The squash are out of the field! Pumpkins this year grew and grew, and now they are in the garage seasoning for pies and stew. Yummy!
There was quite a haul of orange festive friends. Though the original seeds were for gigantic pumpkins, most opted to stay manageable in size so that they would be easy picking from the field. This year Leafhopper Farm focused on one type of squash, through there were several varieties of pumpkin planted.
We’ll save seed from these squash for next year and see what kind of hybrids come out of these pumpkins. I’m sure they will all taste very good, no matter the size.
