An 8x14ft. cooler became available in the area recently and Leafhopper Farm got it. Now we’re working to transport this invaluable refrigeration unit back to the land and set it up in the shop.
We’ll be lifting it onto a truck and moving it as a whole to the land. Epic!!!
This additional cold space will make hanging and aging our meats easy on site. Also, there are so many fruits in the orchard this year, we need a place to keep them chilled down until they can be processed later this fall into winter. There is also talk of sharing space with other local producers to help pay for the electrical draw this puppy demands. More steps towards solar need in the farm’s future.
